The New 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 400R
by Aman ChaudhryNo CommentsKawasaki is all ready to launch their new 400cc Ninja. This all-new 2011 Ninja 400R will easily be slotted in between the 250cc and the 600cc category. Kawasaki fans around the globe have been waiting for this bike for a long time and we aren’t sure when their wait will end as Kawasaki has not yet announced the marketing and sales plans outside Japan.
Going by the looks, the bike is a full-blooded Ninja sporting the classic paint scheme and full fairing looking, which is a Kawasaki Sportsbike trademark.
On the inside this Ninja 400 R has a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder DOHC four-valve engine. The beauty about this engine is that it is powerful at low- and mid-range speeds and that responds agilely at high speeds.
Along with a fuel-injection system, the bike also has sub-throttle valves to optimize the air intake. Kawasaki states that this results in excellent throttle response and smoother engine performance even at normal speeds and improves riding and handling incredibly.
Similar to the 2011 ER-4n, the Ninja 400R also sports a short silencer located under the engine’s belly and is also equipped with a built-in three-way catalyzer.
The full fairing of the Ninja 400R makes the rider feel protected at high speeds, while the position of the aluminum grab bars help in better riding position to ease fatigue. The 2011 Ninja 400R come with a futuristic multi-function LCD display with a digital speedometer, digital bar-style tachometer, fuel gauge, clock and odometer.

Dani Pedrosa Wins 2010 German MotoGP
by Aman Chaudhry1 CommentDani Pedrosa won the eighth race of the 2010 MotoGP at the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland on Sunday marking his second victory of the season. Pedrosa beat Lorenzo to victory while Valentino Rossi made quite a comeback by fighting hard for the third position only to lose it to Casey Stoner at the very last corner.
“This victory is even better than the one in Italy because at Mugello I just went away in front and there was no battle with anybody, but here I was battling with Lorenzo in the first and second race, and finally beat him, so this is even more important,” said the 24 year-old.
Yesterday’s race saw a lot of action on the track. And when things got too much to handle, the race had to be red-flagged at lap nine. The reason of the stoppage was a brutal three-bike accident between Randy de Puniet, Aleix Espargaro and Alvaro Bautista crashed at Turn 4. Luckily none of them got seriously injured as Randy will need to nurse a fractured leg, Espargaro looked like he was in pain initially, Bautista walked away unhurt.
Pedrosa had a good start and was battling with Lorenzo for lead before the race was red-flagged. Luckily Pedrosa had the same energy after the re-start as well though he admitted that he was a bit nervous.
“I’m very happy because we are back winning races and it’s a great feeling,” he said. “It wasn’t easy today because when the race is stopped and restarted like that, sometimes you don’t have the same feeling on the machine in the second part. Also you get nervous again on the grid and it’s possible you won’t have the same pace after the restart. But it went very well for us in both races.”
He continued: “We just made one small change with the rear suspension to get a bit more traction for the second race. I made another good start and in the first laps after Lorenzo had passed me I was pushing very hard to try to take him back. I couldn’t do it with my first attempt, but when I got a second chance I just went for it.”
Twenty minutes after the restart after an interesting battle, Pedrosa went ahead of Lorenzo but managed somehow to stick to second position.
While this action went on in front, a little away was the fight for third position between Rossi and Stoner. Rossi rode like he never was on a medical break concerning his broken leg as he pushed hard to grab the podium position but had to be satisfied with fourth.

by Aman Chaudhry1 CommentMotoring journalist David Motton is swapping petrol power for pedal power to raise money for the leukaemia charity, The Geoff Thomas Foundation.
The former What Car? editor is cycling from London to Paris over three days, averaging more than 100 miles each day. David is one of 350 riders tackling the route from 24-27 June.
“I’m aiming to raise £3000 for The Geoff Thomas Foundation,” said David. “The Foundation was set up by ex-England footballer, Geoff Thomas, after he recovered from leukaemia. The charity funds blood cancer nurses at hospitals around the country and also raises money for drug trials.”

Participants include 1987 Tour de France winner, Stephen Roche, and Olympic Gold medallist, Rebecca Romero.
“It’s going to be one of the toughest things I’ve ever done on a bike,” David said. “I’ve ridden 100 miles in a day before but have never tried to ride so far three days in a row.”

by Aman Chaudhry3 CommentsShortly after Husqvarna announced its two new models – CR 50 and SM 50, the BMW subsidiary is ready to launch three more revamped 250cc 4-stroke motorcycles and enduro range. The three models namely TC 250, TE 250 and the TE 301, have been completely re-designed, have new chassis and engines and will be on sale later this July.
The engine on the new version of TC 250 now gets fitted with a battery less electronic fuel injection system and 45 mm diameter throttle body. The crankcase of the engine has been toughened with new steel sockets on chassis links. The Akrapovic exhaust pipe gets a steel manifold, a titanium silencer and heat protection unit.
The chassis on the TE 250 have been redesigned in such a way that the streamlined area below the cradle has been strengthened to prevent knocks and makes the ride smoother. Thus, the suspension has been worked upon, there’s a new pump for the tank, engine guards made out of newer material and the aluminium hubs get standard perforations.
Then comes the TE 310, which has the lightest engine out of the lot, which weighs only 22 kg but now has been boosted upto 302.44cc. A new exhaust system with heat protection and increase in bore and stroke are the responsible factors behind this engine boost. The total weight of the bike has been further reduced by 6 kgs from the previous version.
Going by the looks, all three models get new graphics on the tank area with In Mould Plastic Decoration, which is incorporated, in the actual material not applied afterwards. -
