Dani Pedrosa Wins 2010 German MotoGP
by Aman Chaudhry1 CommentDani Pedrosa won the eighth race of the 2010 MotoGP at the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland on Sunday marking his second victory of the season. Pedrosa beat Lorenzo to victory while Valentino Rossi made quite a comeback by fighting hard for the third position only to lose it to Casey Stoner at the very last corner.
“This victory is even better than the one in Italy because at Mugello I just went away in front and there was no battle with anybody, but here I was battling with Lorenzo in the first and second race, and finally beat him, so this is even more important,” said the 24 year-old.
Yesterday’s race saw a lot of action on the track. And when things got too much to handle, the race had to be red-flagged at lap nine. The reason of the stoppage was a brutal three-bike accident between Randy de Puniet, Aleix Espargaro and Alvaro Bautista crashed at Turn 4. Luckily none of them got seriously injured as Randy will need to nurse a fractured leg, Espargaro looked like he was in pain initially, Bautista walked away unhurt.
Pedrosa had a good start and was battling with Lorenzo for lead before the race was red-flagged. Luckily Pedrosa had the same energy after the re-start as well though he admitted that he was a bit nervous.
“I’m very happy because we are back winning races and it’s a great feeling,” he said. “It wasn’t easy today because when the race is stopped and restarted like that, sometimes you don’t have the same feeling on the machine in the second part. Also you get nervous again on the grid and it’s possible you won’t have the same pace after the restart. But it went very well for us in both races.”
He continued: “We just made one small change with the rear suspension to get a bit more traction for the second race. I made another good start and in the first laps after Lorenzo had passed me I was pushing very hard to try to take him back. I couldn’t do it with my first attempt, but when I got a second chance I just went for it.”
Twenty minutes after the restart after an interesting battle, Pedrosa went ahead of Lorenzo but managed somehow to stick to second position.
While this action went on in front, a little away was the fight for third position between Rossi and Stoner. Rossi rode like he never was on a medical break concerning his broken leg as he pushed hard to grab the podium position but had to be satisfied with fourth.

Lorenzo Delighted After Catalunya Win
by Aman ChaudhryNo CommentsJorge Lorenzo is on a roll. He bagged his fifth victory of the MotoGP for 2010 at the Catalunya Circuit on Sunday.
Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo once again started and finished at pole position securing his MotoGP World Championship position with a lead of 52 points. This was Lorenzo’s third consecutive win from pole position as he continues to ride spectacularly towards victory.
Last season at the same circuit Lorenzo has lost the title to his teammate Valentino Rossi after finishing second after a thrilling battle but he was delighted with this victory at Montmeló.
“This is very special,” said the 23 year-old. “After losing so closely last year I was happy but not completely so and today I can say I am completely happy, winning here at my home race.”
After a brilliant start to the race, Andrea Dovizioso threatened Lorenzo till the first half of the race. Dovizioso looked in very good form and even managed to get to the first position although very briefly because the Spaniard quickly took it back. The battle for first position came to an abrupt end with Dovizioso’s crash on lap 14, which in turn was a complete give away to the rest of the race.
“It was very difficult today because it was so hot and the front tyre was sliding a lot. I thought I was going to have a big battle with Dovizioso because he was pushing very hard but then he crashed and I was alone; it was lucky for me because then I was able to take it more gently to the finish,” said Lorenzo, who went on to explain that he was also very pleased with how controlled his ride was.
“I think I rode a clever race today. I am so grateful to my team and to everyone at Yamaha and Bridgestone because they are working so hard to make our bike competitive at every track. I also want to say thank you to all the fans that came to watch today, it is a great feeling for me to win here in front of them all,” he concluded.
The excitement then shifted to Dani pedrosa and Casey Stoner who furiously battled for the 2nd position title. The Honda and Ducati were inseparable for most of the race and even barely touched one another towards the end when things got all heated up.
Dani Pedrosa finished second with Stoner very close behind him, letting Randy de Puniet ride in at fourth place.

Jorge Lorenzo wins the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France
by Aman Chaudhry1 CommentJorge Lorenzo bagged the Le Mans MotoGp World Championship marking his second victory of the season and extended his world championship lead to nine points. Teammate Rossi secured second position while Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso finished the podium positions.
Even though Rossi had a super start after starting from pole, he couldn’t hold on to it for too long as his teammate Lorenzo managed to slip past without much difficulty only to ride with unmatched skill to maintain a four second lead to keep his position right till the end.
Last few laps saw much excitement and a constant battle between the two Honda teammates and Ducati rider Nicky Hayden. Pedrosa, who tried hard to hold on to third for a long time made some crucial mistakes to first let teammate Dovizioso go past and then letting Hayden go in for fourth only to finish fifth himself.
Didn’t turn out to be a good race for Casey Stoner as the Ducati ace rider crashed out at Turn 6, after the second lap itself making this his second non-finish of the season. Soon after that Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Ben Spies race was over because of a mechanical failure and Capirossi (Rizla Suzuki) also went down to interrupt his race.

Lorenzo’s first victory of 2010 at Jerez
by Aman Chaudhry1 CommentA thrilling exciting race got Jorge Lorenzo his first victory for 2010 at the WRC Gran Premio bwin de España after the second round at Jerez today.
The Spanish home crowd was delighted to see Spainard Jorge Lorenzo bag the victory after battling it out with Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa down to the last lap. Fellow teammate and defending World Champion Valentino Rossi managed third position on the podium.
A brilliant start to the race saw Pedrosa book the pole position and keeping it that way for most of the race while Rossi gradually rising up from the his fourth position on the grid.
While Lorenzo had moved back from his second position down to fifth, it was Pedrosa who clearly went past Rossi, Hayden and Stoner.
Mid-way into the race the top three positions seemed secure with Pedrosa leading with a second and a half advantage over Rossi and Lorenzo closely following suit but all three setting similar lap times.
As the race started closing in Lorenzo did a similar act as seen in the Qatar GP as he overtook teammate Rossi at the end of a back straight with only six laps remaining for the race to end. He changed focus to hunt down Pedrosa and went all out at doing that.
With just two laps remaining Lorenzo tried desperately to pass Pedrosa into the Dry Sack corner but couldn’t as the factory Honda rider kept his line. Both riders almost touched as the pulsating race moved into its last lap.
At the end of the straight back again Lorenzo tried once more and this time Pedrosa ran slightly too wide allowing Lorenzo to dash past bagging pole position.
Ducati riders Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner completed the top five while Andrea Dovizioso took the sixth place.
Loris Capirossi (Rizla Suzuki) and Aleix Espargaró ( Pramac Racing) crashed shortly after the third lap. Although, Espargaró managed to return to the race, it was game over for Capirossi. The only other retirement was Tech 3 rider Ben Spies because of a tyre issue.

Stoner crashes. Rossi wins!
by Aman ChaudhryNo CommentsResults of the exciting season start of 2010 MotoGp at Losail Circuit, Qatar.
World Champion Valentino Rossi started the 2010 MotoGp by winning the first race of the season at Losail Circuit in Qatar.
A brilliant start to the race, for both Rossi and Dani Pedrosa, who started 7th on the grid and soon found himself leading everybody else. Rossi’s position was secured as soon as Casey Stoner crashed out (unhurt) of the race just after five laps.
The Australian has been the winner for MotoGp on Losail Circuit consecutively for the last three years and gave the best time during Free Practise I, II and Qualifying, but this time luck wasn’t entirely on his side. Stoner, who was leading the 2010 MotoGp had a crash and was out of the race after just 5 laps leaving the grounds clear for Rossi.
For the next few laps Rossi led while Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso batteled for the 2nd position till Pedrosa went lower on the grid and Nikki Hayden and Rossi’s teammate Jorge Lorenzo started making a smooth climb up.
The only person, who threatened Rossi’s pole position, though only for a fraction, was Honda Rider Andrea Dovizioso. It was almost that was the warning Rossi needed and he put in the extra pace needed to widen the gap between him and his chaser.
The Losail Circuit saw a fierce battle for the 2nd position between Dovizioso, Hayden and Lorenzo.
Things started really heating up with just 2 laps to finish when Lorenzo, who was running fourth squeezed up to 3rd past Hayden and then moved further up to mark his 2nd position while leaving Dovizioso behind as well.
The next corner saw Hayden come to 3rd position leaving Dovizioso behind, but just meters from the finish line their positions swapped, giving Davizioso a podium position and leaving Hayden with no choice but to accept 4th.
Rossi crossed the finish line with one full second’s advantage while Ben Spies bagged the 5th position for Tech 3 Yamaha
Dani Pedrosa, the man who led the race for a few laps right at the start, ultimately finished 7th on the grid.
The wait for the next race another two weeks, and its end on the 25th of April at the Motegi Circuit in Japan.
Till then watch out for more action packed images and videos of the 2010 MotoGp here on Autogeared.

Is it going to be Casey or Rossi?
by Aman ChaudhryNo Comments
The Losail International Circuit at Qatar saw a lot of action during MotoGP qualifying practice on Saturday evening.Ducati Marlboro rider Casey Stoner secured Pole position for himself for the Sunday night’s race. The spectators saw a constant battle between Stoner and opponent, Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi.
Rossi was faster than Stoner around the first half of his final lap, but unfortunately for him Stoner marked a best lap of 1’55.007 and Rossi fell short by 0.355s.
Stoner said: “You never know what’s going to happen on Sunday, so we’re not playing our chances down, we’re just being realistic. We’ve been let down in the past a few times when things have looked good – it’s one thing to start the season strong but you have to finish it strong. We’re going to try and stay a bit more focused this year, and pole position is definitely the best way to start off the season.”
Reigning World Champion Valentino Rossi (Fiat Yamaha) was second fastest in the hour-long qualifying with a time of 1’55.362, as he secured his starting position on the grid.
Rossi’s Fiat Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo looks to be in good shape despite an injured left hand as he managed to put the second Yamaha on the outside of the front row.
