by Aman Chaudhry2 CommentsThe 2011 Lotus Elise has not a new facelift and more importantly it has managed to cut down its CO2
emission by almost a fifth bringing it to a figure of 149g/km.It’s claimed that with this 16% improvement, now the Lotus Elise has the lowest CO2 for its performance level for any gasoline sports car in the world.
The reason was reducing the carbon footprint for the new Elise are that it’s been fitted with a smaller Toyota 1.6 litre VVT-I engine has been downscaled by 200cc compared to the existing 1.8 without any difference in power.
The aerodynamics have also been improved by 4% and Lotus says that it’ll touch 60mph in just 6 seconds.
The 2011 Lotus Elise is also lighter now and weighs just 876kg. If compared to competitors like Porsche Boxter that weighs 1334kg, the difference is huge.
